Mexicana – the Maya hammock

Those elegant hammocks are traditionally handcrafted on the Yucatán peninsula. They are crafted solely in cottage industry. Far more than 500 single cotton threads are looped into each other and the netting is carried by over 100 suspension cords. That way a delicate net is created that has no single knot. It can be stretched in width nearly without any restrictions. Because of that you can take every position in the hammock and turn around as you wish, especially lying across becomes very comfortable. The hammock will snuggle against your body. The soft, knotless and expandable netting creates a unique relaxing experience.

Please note: Children could get tangled with buttons or belt buckles in the delicate netting. In extreme cases the yarn can be torn and the netting could fall apart. That’s why Mexicana hammocks are not suitable for children.
